GameSpot >
GameSpot was my bread & butter for nearly eight years, from March 2000 through December 2007. During that span, I wrote nearly 800 pieces for them.
It all began when Peter Bartholow, one of their freelancers, left and recommended me to replace him. Joe Fielder, Jeff Gerstmann, and James Mielke gave me a shot and the rest is history.
My first submission was a preview of Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball, turned in on March 2, 2000. The next day I turned in my first review: Magical Tetris Challenge. My last piece for GameSpot was published December 19, 2007: a review of Super Mario Bros. 3 for the Wii's Virtual Console.
I would have written for GameSpot forever, but, when CNet let Jeff go for the "wrong reasons," I lost faith in the sites they run.
